Senior GIS Engineer

DigiFarm is a rapidly growing agri-tech startup based in Norway. We use sophisticated satellite imaging, super-resolved image processing, and advanced AI to generate the world’s most accurate field boundaries and seeded acre datasets. Day to day responsibilities:

• Direct support to DigiFarm using GIS data and tools;

• Building and assisting both the Engineering and the Product team related to our required remote sensing and geospatially derived imagery data, mainly Sentinel-2;

• Mapping using GIS software (QGIS/ArcGIS ++);

• Getting information from a GIS Map;

• Writing Python code;

• Create and maintain data layers as requested.
  
  

You should have worked with, intimately understand, or exhibit deep, demonstrable knowledge of:

• Postgresql;

• Linux shell scripting;

• AWS S3;

• AWS Lambda;

• Google Colab;

• PyTorch;

• Docker;

• Kubernetes;

• GDAL, Postgis, Google Earth Engine;

• Mapbox.

Other skills include:

• Advanced skills using QGIS, ArcGIS;

• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities in the field of work;

• Related work experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experience (ArcGIS, MapInfo, and AutoCAD).

Education & Qualifications:

• A solid foundation in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and principles;

• A degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
