Job Summary
The GIS Software Engineer is pivotal in streamlining DigiFarm's data pipeline for enhanced stability and reduced time-to-delivery. By addressing issues in satellite data processing and generating custom datasets, this role significantly contributes to the productivity and efficiency of the Product, Data Processing, and Sales teams. The GIS Software Engineer must be adept in GIS toolsets, Postgresql, Python programming, and must have proficiency in Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Debug and troubleshoot geospatial processing issues to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Collaborate closely with the Data Processing and Sales teams to fulfill specialized data requests and support client deliverables.
Assist on maintenance and optimization of geodatabases to support various product and service initiatives.

Extensive product development.
Extensive Infrastructure development.
Direct involvement in sales negotiations or contract signings.
Physical handling of server hardware maintenance.
What are the key metrics of success (KPIs)?
🎯 KPI | Issue Resolution Efficiency: Measured by the average time taken to resolve data processing issues from identification to closure.
🎯 KPI | Collaboration and Support Effectiveness: Evaluated by feedback from Sales and Data Processing teams regarding the timeliness and applicability of technical support provided.
What Knowledge, Experience, and Job-Related Skills are Essential and Desirable for Success in This Role?
Technical expertise in GIS software and tools, specifically in geospatial data processing and analysis.
Programming skills, particularly in Python, and experience with Postgresql databases.
Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting to facilitate robust geospatial solutions.
Experience in maintaining geodatabases.
Methodical approach to task management, ensuring consistency and accuracy in processes.
Proactive communicator, able to articulate technical complexities clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptable and resilient when working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
