We've always believed that the two big bottlenecks in AI and SatEO and for our solution (deep neural network model for field boundary delineation) has been training data and GPU compute, with this partnership and the ability to run cost-efficient R&D and model training on the fifth largest super-computer in the world 🤯 (LUMI supercomputer) we're excited about the accelerated growth, accuracy, performance and for us to keep pushing the edge of what's possible in our space 🛰️.

Our AI model, trained on an impressive 4 million hectares of data from 57 countries, can automatically detect field boundaries and identify various elements, such as grain, water, and trees. 🌾💧🌳 This is a game-changer for farmers and agricultural authorities worldwide, helping increase crop yields, adjust fertilisation and spraying, and create reliable crop forecasts.

The model was recently tested on the LUMI supercomputer, Europe's most powerful supercomputer and the results are extraordinary: — LUMI represents a turning point for us and will undoubtedly greatly impact our ability to deliver innovative solutions for the agricultural sector, says Nils Solum Helset, founder and CEO of DigiFarm.

This is a prime example of how access to national supercomputers and Norway's share of LUMI can accelerate technological development and enable new products. Both Innovation Norway and Nasjonalt kompetansesenter for HPC - EuroCC@Norway have played crucial roles in DigiFarm's journey to LUMI.
